Ranmaru Mori 1st appeared in Samurai Warriors. He is normaly alongside the Oda army in all games.

Samurai Warriors[]

In the 1st game Ranmaru has a friendly relationship with Mitsuhide Akechi. He fights alongside Mitsuhide in Inabayama Castle but after the battle they both join Nobunaga. In the 2nd game he doesn't have a Story Mode and can be only used in Free Mode, Survival Mode, Sugoroku & Mercenary Mode in Samurai Warriors 2 Xtreme Legends. He weilds a long sword.

Devil Kings[]

In this game Ranmaru's name is Hornet alongside Nobunaga who's name is Devil King. Nobunaga pays Ranmaru with candy instad of money. He uses a bow in battle.

Onimusha[]

Ranmaru appears in the 3rd game alongside Nobunaga. In the past he appears as a human while inthe future he is a demon. He weilds a sword in the game.

Kessen[]

Ranmaru appears as a playable unit in Kessen . He is much more masculine than his Samurai Warriors counterpart and even sports a topknot hairstyle. Ranmaru is first seen tearfully reporting his Father's death to Nobunaga. He gladly replaces his father but inevitably dies while assisting his lord's escape from Honnoji. His older brother replaces him after this incident. As another contrast to his Samurai Warriors persona, he dislikes being in an army formed with Mitsuhide and their attack power will suffer.

History[]

Mori Ranmaru , born Mori Narutoshi, was the son of Mori Yoshinari, and had 5 brothers in total, from the province of Mino. From an early age, Ranmaru was an attendant to Oda Nobunaga. Recognized for his talent and loyalty, he was appointed to a responsible post. At Ōmi, he was given 500 koku, and after Takeda Katsuyori's death, he was awarded the 50,000 koku at Iwamura Castle. Ranmaru and his younger brothers perished defending Oda Nobunaga during the Incident at Honnō-ji. Ranmaru's bravery and devotion is remembered throughout history, and especially during the Edo period because of his decision to commit seppuku and follow Nobunaga in death.
